- ReportReported for: Fake or proxy cards
Sold a booster box of Phantasmal flames on eBay. When I opened the packs they only had 7-9 cards per pack and every card was fake.
What we checked (4 sources)
- eBay seller + feedback profile
eBay seller attixrumi (a UK-registered business seller, member since Dec 2024) shows a sharp recent feedback collapse: about 30 of 40 lifetime negatives landed in the past month, against only 17 positives that month, concentrated on high-value Pokemon sealed product - the "Mega Evolution: Phantasmal Flames" booster box and the "Scarlet & Violet 151" booster bundle. Multiple eBay verified-purchase buyers describe the boxes as counterfeit/resealed with fake cards, cards from the WRONG set (one buyer pulled a Mega Kangaskhan ex, a Mega Evolution card, from a supposed Phantasmal Flames box), and fewer than 10 cards per pack. One buyer video-recorded opening a fake box. The standing "Top Rated Seller" badge and high positive percentage are inflated by 700+ automated eBay feedbacks that predate the counterfeit complaints.
- Product spec cross-check (Pokemon TCG)
Genuine "Pokemon TCG: Mega Evolution - Phantasmal Flames" (set ME02, released 2025-11-14, headlined by Mega Charizard X ex) packs contain exactly 10 game cards plus a basic Energy and a code card; a genuine display box holds 36 packs (retailer code P10/B36, confirmed by Pokemon Center, Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart). A pack containing only 7-9 cards is impossible from authentic product, so the reported short packs are a hard counterfeit tell on their own. Phantasmal Flames is a documented counterfeit target - a fake-sealed-product alert was issued for fake Phantasmal Flames booster boxes, and independent guides catalog the tells (cards printed backwards/upside down, holo/non-holo swaps, loose shrink wrap, missing Pokeball underprint, fuzzy fonts, missing barcodes).
- eBay buyer reports (verified purchases)
Beyond the counterfeit product, buyers report a systematic shipping/tracking scheme used to defeat eBay returns: bogus FedEx numbers followed by Chinese tracking numbers marked "delivered" to a different state/zip, with impossible package dimensions and weight for a card order (one showed a 6-foot tube weighing 42 lbs), and items shown delivered before the buyer actually received anything. Buyers also received a phishing text posing as a FedEx representative, and the seller impersonated "eBay AI" in messages. Returns were denied or ghosted; several buyers recovered their money only after escalating to eBay Money Back Guarantee / eBay support.
- Cross-platform handle check
The handle "attixrumi" was not found on any other platform: confirmed absent on TikTok, X/Twitter, YouTube, Whatnot, Reddit, Mercari, TCGplayer, and Discord (each checked against a known-real and a known-fake handle to calibrate), with no findable public presence on Instagram or Facebook. Unlike an established creator or store, this is an eBay-only handle with no social or community footprint - consistent with a disposable storefront rather than an accountable seller.
